Pulsatile Tinnitus Workshop Hamburg 2026

Pulsatile Tinnitus Workshop

Advancing Expertise in Pulsatile Tinnitus and IIH Care

For many patients living with pulsatile tinnitus or Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH), the path to diagnosis and treatment can be long and challenging. These conditions can significantly affect quality of life. However, many cases can be effectively treated through endovascular interventions when the underlying venous pathology is correctly identified.

To support greater clinical awareness and specialised expertise in this evolving field, we were pleased to continue our educational journey at University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf. Under the guidance of PD Dr. Christian Thaler and PD Dr. Fabian Flottmann, participants explored the latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of PT, IIH and venous sinus pathologies.

The workshop combined theoretical knowledge with practical training. During the first day, participants received a comprehensive overview of pathophysiology, diagnostic approaches and patient selection. In addition, the programme covered imaging techniques and current sinus stenting technologies.

On the second day, attendees strengthened their hands-on skills through interactive training sessions using a dedicated venous sinus model. They practised different treatment strategies under expert supervision and exchanged clinical experiences with their peers.

By sharing knowledge, clinical experience and practical expertise, we can help improve awareness and support earlier diagnosis. Ultimately, these efforts can contribute to better patient care. We look forward to continuing this important educational exchange.
